Primary effects
- Reduces anxiety and promotes sleep, acting quickly even at low doses.
Peak character
- Can induce a 'zombified', zoned-out, floating headspace at higher doses, leading to a pleasant but hazy experience.
Negatives / side effects
- Higher doses can cause excessive sedation and very prolonged sleep.
- Similar to benzodiazepines, overdose is a serious hazard, and long-term addiction is difficult to overcome.
Aftereffects / comedown
- Typically little to no lingering effects the following day when used occasionally at low doses.
- Higher doses can lead to significant next-day grogginess and a 'zombified' feeling.
