Quick reference
Duration
Experience
Primary effects
- A DMT-infused smoking blend with an MAOI that prolongs the psychoactive experience.
- Induces complex visual phenomena, both eyes open (OEVs) and eyes closed (CEVs), ranging from internal chambers to external environmental distortions.
- Generates a unique headspace, often described as tuneable, allowing a degree of control over immersion in the experience.
Peak character
- Vibrant, colourful, and often geometric visual internal constructs that feel manufactured rather than organic.
- External reality becomes fluid and alive, with objects swaying, drifting, and exhibiting rhythmic 3D interplay, creating a 'dollhouse-effect' quality.
- A state of profound observation and analysis, maintaining awareness of sober reality while deeply immersed in the altered perception.
Negatives / side effects
- MAOIs pose significant risks; mixing them with many psychoactive substances (antidepressants, stimulants, etc.) can cause lethal reactions.
- The smoke can be harsh and unpleasant to inhale.
- Potential for anxiety or unsettling feelings, especially early in the experience.
Aftereffects / comedown
- Lingering headiness and a 'glow' that gradually diminishes over an hour.
- Increased relaxation and serenity for several hours post-experience.
- Mild headache, mental fatigue, and increased tiredness the day after, possibly an MAOI side effect; also prone to lucid dreaming.
Reagent testing
| Ehrlich | Purple/violet |
| Hofmann | Blue → purple |
Adulterant detection: DMT-containing smoking blend. Ehrlich confirms DMT presence. Note: Changa also contains an MAOI (usually Syrian Rue or B. caapi) which is not reagent-testable.
Ehrlich tests for DMT component only. The MAOI component cannot be confirmed by standard colorimetric reagents — source awareness is essential.
