Primary effects
- A sense of well-being, mental clarity, and gentle stimulation without significant jitters.
- Mildly empathogenic effects reported by some, distinct from regular tea or coffee.
Negatives / side effects
- Long-term, high-volume consumption, especially at very hot temperatures (over 65C/149F), may increase cancer risk (mouth, throat, lungs).
Aftereffects / comedown
- Effects gradually fade during the afternoon.
Reagent testing
Adulterant detection: Ilex paraguariensis — caffeine/theobromine. Low risk; no drug reagent test.
Low risk botanical stimulant.
