Primary effects
- A drifting psychedelic headiness and warmth can emerge, with a hint of enhanced coloration in vision. There is an overall psychedelic aura that ebbs and flows.
Peak character
- A mild visual haze and a lazy drift in vision are noted. The headspace solidifies, removing prior anxieties and creating a generally agreeable ambience. It feels like a psychedelic vibe, comparable to a moderate LSD dose.
Negatives / side effects
- There may be a hint of nausea rolling in and out. Some suppliers coat seeds with chemicals like fungicides, so wash and dry seeds if the source is uncertain.
Aftereffects / comedown
- The intensity can fade relatively quickly, leading to an afterglow of positive mood and slight headiness. Sleep may be accompanied by vivid, recallable dreams, and some headiness or afterglow might persist the next morning.
Reagent testing
Expected reactions
| Ehrlich | Purple/violet (LSA — ergine) |
| Hofmann | Blue → purple |
Adulterant detection: LSA-containing seeds (Ipomoea tricolor). Ehrlich confirms ergot alkaloid. Seeds are often treated with pesticides/fungicides — sourcing untreated seeds is important.
Ehrlich for LSA confirmation. Source untreated/organic seeds to avoid pesticide exposure.
