Rapé provides strong psychoactive effects, often described as a head rush and stimulation, followed by sedation.
Nicotiana rustica, a common base, is significantly more potent than common tobacco and can induce a 'head shock'.

Peak character

The experience can be intense and overwhelming, involving severe olfactory discomfort, a burning sensation, and heat engulfing the head.
Users may experience a debilitating and unpleasant headspace, feeling unwell, similar to an illness or flu.

Negatives / side effects

Nicotiana rustica is highly addictive and has a significantly higher risk of addiction compared to common tobacco.
Large doses can cause acute nicotine poisoning and may be lethal, even for those with high tolerance like shamans.
The precise composition of many rapé variants, including the nicotiana rustica content and presence of other psychoactive plants, is often unknown, increasing risk.

Aftereffects / comedown

Users may feel unwell and wretched for an extended period, with recovery taking hours.
Even after immediate effects subside, individuals may not return to a good condition for the rest of the day.
